Are among the things I planted last night after work. I planted the chard, lettuce, radishes, and carrots in some of the front yard raised beds. I also scared and got scared by a huge garter snake when I was putting my tools away. I always have a colony of garter snakes in my garden, and although in general snakes scare me I don't mind these because I know they eat the slugs. Usually I kindof know where they like to hang out and I make sure I give them a chance to get away when I need to work in that area. But this time I guess he was just sunning on the driveway and he about gave me a heart attack and probably vice versa. Fortunately both of us escaped unharmed from that scare.
Feral cat Penny had her trip to the vet yesterday to get spayed and is now recovering in the garage. She was very scared of being in the live trap and is not real happy about being in the garage now and hides every time I go to check on her. But I will keep her in for a week to make sure she heals up ok. (She is the 4th of these cats I have trapped and taken in this spring, 3 girls and 1 boy. After this, still 1 girl and 1 boy left to go.) Hopefully when I let her out she will still be my "friend" and come visit me through the window every day.
Today was a beautiful sunny and actually warm day. However, I woke up feeling sick, either a cold or allergies so I did make it through the day at work, but I won't be getting anything done in the garden tonight. Tomorrow hopefully I will feel up to planting and weeding some more. Of course then it will probably rain again. :)

I just love chard, but please, please keep the garter snake! Liz
LOL, Liz. Yes, I will keep him here. He ran so fast I don't think I could catch him if I wanted to.
